Conductive Education® is an innovative learning system – with a core belief in neuroplasticity - that merges the elements of education with rehabilitation. The system deals not only with the physical needs, but also with the social and psychological issues facing people of all ages with neurological conditions. This includes cerebral palsy, developmental delays, acquired brain injury, multiple sclerosis, stroke and Parkinson's.
Some of the areas in which CE can help include:
- to learn a variety of problem solving skills and techniques to increase independence and mobility;
- to assist with transferring newly learned skills into one’s daily life;
- to build confidence and self-esteem in own abilities;
- to increase awareness of body movements, surroundings and environment;
- to improve speech, communication and social skills;
- to improve symmetry and posture in all positions;
- to improve balance, breathing and coordination;
- to improve weight bearing and transference of weight.
Conductive Education is offered throughout many countries and is an option out there for individuals.
