Hi,
I was wondering if anyone with CP does any form of exercise and if so what?

I have problems when my hand gets to hurting like from the cold or hot....The only thing I do is rub my hand until it quits hurting or sit in the bathtub, thats all I know to do

There are many new and exciting challenges for children of all levels that can be found in public playgrounds. Another outdoor activity that can benefit almost any child with cerebral palsy is swimming. New exercises for people with cerebral palsy have taken to the water. Aquatic-based exercises for people with cerebral palsy use the physical properties of water to resist or assist in the performance of exercises. Not only does swimming give children the freedom of movement they don't have on land, but it can also help improve respiratory ability. It is important to note that cold water can increase muscle tone, but warm water often has a relaxing effect and can help reduce muscle tone. Locate a pool with the water temperature that is best suited for your child's tone.

Hi my name is Michael, I have CP and am wheelchair bound, I exercise everyday, by opening and closing my hands; range of motion for my arms and legs; feet range of motion; head pull ups. I find these help to keep me mobile.

Has anyone ever had any success with chiropractic medicine? I would greatly appreciate any feedback as I am considering this as a treatment for my twins.

Swimming is becoming a favorite form of exercise for parents and kids with cerebral palsy. Water improves flexibility, encourages movement and helps keep weight and strain off the bones and joints. :D
