the recall of hip implants is considered as one of the worst medical malpractice. Do you have any thoughts on these?

I've heard that there were many such recall cases and glad the recall was done. I also learned that the success of hip replacement of implants depends largely on 2 things – the age of the patient and the types of implants used. It seems that the cementless types of implants were better than other types and patients who were given these had better success rates. My friend Jocelyn has great ideas about this issue. Hope this one helps! Thanks!

The Hip replacement can be considered as a medical malpractice that is associated with the defective hip device that is implanted within the hips of a patient.

Most of us heard about medical practice acts and the people who are affected. First, the physicians, and next the nurses. But they are not the only health providers that can be accused. Now, was the recall of the hip implants be considered a MEDICAL MALPRACTICE?

Basically, medical malpractice is negligence committed by a health care professional, whose performance of duties depart from the standard of care of those with similar training and experience. Most medical malpractice actions are filed against health providers who have failed to utilize reasonable care to treat a patient.

On the contrary, there is certainly a big misconception about medical negligence. The main problem is that a majority of complications similar to infections and other acknowledged problems usually are not viewed as malpractice. To further understand about when to file medical malpractice lawsuit, you can visit this site: Medical Mistakes -- A Primer on the Basics of Medical Malpractice. It was a short article from Mr. Haskell, a popular lawyer in Spokane WA that has won a bunch of million dollar legal claims. That will supplement everybody with information about medical issues, and will widen horizons about medical malpractice.

I would not consider damages done by a defective product, like the recalled hip implants, to fall under medical malpractice category, it is product liability and lawsuits are usually filed against the manufacturer of these products. Several types of hip implants have been recalled and it seems that the most problems were cause by metal on metal implants.
