Watching for Signs of Development Delays in Infants

Postby CPFamilyNetworks » Tue May 10, 2011 10:22 am

How can you tell if your child is developing on time? Most children with cerebral palsy are diagnosed between birth and 18 months of age. Other parents go years with a “gut feeling” that something isn’t right, but do not know what to look for. When asking your pediatrician about your child’s progress, you may be told over and over, “let’s wait and see,” or “all children are different.” Like I have. This is generally true, but it’s also a fact – and research studies agree – that parents are better than doctors at “diagnosing” delays in their child’s development. I've been able to help some by writing out some development signs for Cerebral Palsy here http://www.cpfamilynetwork.org/cerebral ... -12-months
