HTML Function Removed

Hi All,
Due to the amount of SPAM, I have disabled HTML allowances in postings and added some word censors. Hopefully this will help. I you have a good URL that you would like to share, please e-mail me and I can insert it in your post.

Ok Mike,
I've deleted several posts containing hyperlinks to soft ******** movies and such. I there a way to ban these spammers?

This isn't your first surgery?

Ban Spammers

Kurt,
Thanks for all your help. Yeah, there is a way to ban them in the administration area. I don't think moderators have access to that panel. Are you able to see the IP address in the posts?

No Mike,
I can't see the IP addresses. These types of spammers change there names and IP addresses like we change our underware. I will keep deleting the suspect posts and I know some of the spammers user names

URL Censor

Hi Kurt,
Just found out that with the newer version of PHP I am using, you cannot remove the URL function. I did figure out how to censor URL's containing certain words. I was censoring them before but found that when I censored the word the link still pointed to the URL that the spammer was using even though the word was replaced with (*****). I just made some changes so that the URLs in my censor list will actually be replaced with the hompage URL of this site. Send me any URL's that people are posting before you delete them and I will add them to the censor list.

Example:
http://testurl.com

That should work fine. I click on the word "censored" and it take me to the Forums front page... cool!

Hey Mike,
these spammers may be using the same IP address. "Rooster" is the latest attacker. Can you block this IP address?
